The projects included in this post are only the ones that have pictures of the finished product posted during the calendar year, so there are quite a few other sewing, knitting, and craft projects that were started in 2018. That's not a whole lot of finished projects, but it's not too shabby, either. And I really love each and every one of these garments, so that it definitely a win!

And best of all, I managed four different projects for my new home! I am on the lookout for the perfect drapery fabric for my downstairs windows (I see birds and florals in a lavender and sage palette on a cream background - anyone know where I can find some?!?). Although, I have heard stories about just how boring it is to make window treatments . . . still, if the perfect textile shows up for a reasonable price, I am going to have to make my own.

ReplyDeleteI also find home decor sewing very boring compared to fashion sewing. But, holy cow, does it save you money! The drapes I wanted for my living room would have cost me about $800 to have a shop make them. I found similar fabrics and fixtures and made my own over the course of two weekends for $200. Just look at it the same as fashion sewing - you'll get a unique piece, perfectly customized to your own home, in fabrics and colors that you love. Go for it!
