A Pink Hat

This is what comes of leftover yardage.

A matching suit set!

I have been wearing this vintage outfit a lot lately, and wanted to add another cropped jacket to my wardrobe.  This is the result.

I love this combination, and may have to make another at some point.  (That project list is getting really long!)

My closet is slowly being filled with more and more separates.

And while I love a great dress, the versatility of separates is pretty fabulous.

This project has also reminded me of the many vintage suit patterns that I want to make up at some point.  (Add that to the list, as well!)

I think I even have enough yardage left to squeeze a pencil skirt out of this lovely fabric!  Which makes three new project ideas that came of this one.

For the time being, I am taking a break from this particular textile.  But the black and white color combo really does feel Spring appropriate, so perhaps that pencil skirt will happen sooner rather than later . . .

  3. That is a lovely outfit. And I have an ever growing list of things to sew- and an increasingly large list of patterns I would like to buy. (Vogue is having a sale and I knew I had seen a lovely Vogue jacket pattern...somewhere...and then you post again -bingo -it's your jacket pattern. (You are quite the enabler. Thank you!)

  4. This is such a lovely look!! I've been in love with that skirt and jacket over on Instagram, and I usually love your clothes in general, but this whole look with the shoes and hat is a particular favorite.

  5. Love this dress--it looks lovely on you! Fabulous job with the styling as well. I found your blog through a beading tutorial. Thank you SO much for the step-by-step directions! I'm working on upcycling a vintage slip and wanted to add beads but wasn't sure how. Your tutorial made it super simple, though I modified the directions a bit for my project. Looking forward to reading more here very soon. :)

  6. Love all that you have made. Brings back memories. I was born in 1947, married in 1967. I never went shopping without hat & gloves. Where did you ever find those seamed nylons? I never could get both legs straight! Always there was one crazy crooked. Love your blog.
