Rain, Rain, Go Away

It feels like it has been raining for thirty days straight.  That is, of course, a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much.  California could use the rain, but not all at once, thank you very much!

The Bay Area has been drenched with rain for the past couple of weeks, and getting around in a flood zone is not very pleasant.  Neither is a leaking roof . . . it could have been a whole lot worse, but it happened in the same exact spot a couple of years ago, so it is not very reassuring to know the problem remains in the case of a real storm.

On a more cheerful note, a bit of sewing has been accomplished.  But mostly, I want to sit on the couch with my knitting needles and some of my new yarn.  And I don't see that changing until the sun decides to show its face again.

  2. That is such a luxuriously beautiful colour or yarn.

We've been having a lot of rain here, too. It's washed away the bulk of the snow we had in late November/early December and at this rate I'm thinking we might be in for an uncharacteristically green Christmas.

  3. Gorgeous colour wool. I'm in England so am quite comforted by the thought that it's raining in California, although sorry to hear about your roof 🌞

  4. That's what I want to do too! I really need to pick up some more yarn. I've got a road trip coming up, and a good knitting project could do the trick!

  10. It is knitting time; even here in the nonrainy, always cloudy Seattle. Hats for the holidays for me (no more sweaters - too hard on the wrists). Lovely color for you.

  11. I know what you mean about the rain! Great color and sleeve detail -- how do you like this brand of yarn? Stay dry!

    1. I really love KnitPicks, and have had quite a bit of success with their yarn and their wood needles (the rainbow colors are so pretty!).

I don’t feel as proficient with my knitting as I am with my sewing, so I would rather not spend massive amounts on my yarn. That being said, the days of JoAnn and Michaels yarn is over, so I had to find an affordable, natural fiber, nice to work with alternative. And for now, KnitPicks it is!
