For national sewing month, JoAnn Fabrics and Pellon sponsored a Sew Your Style contest – the only rule was to use quilting cotton. Well, as a huge fan of using quilting cotton
for summer frocks, this was the perfect excuse to finish up this dress (there
will be a more in depth post, but first I wanted to finish up with my Gala Gown!).
This particular cotton comes from JoAnn Fabrics, and, to top it all off, I used Pellon as an under-structure to
give lots of body to the skirt – which made it the perfect choice for this
contest, right?!
I believe you need a Facebook account to vote, so if you
have one, I would appreciate your support! Voting ends October 7th.
Love your dress. I just voted for you. Hope you win.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is beautiful! I voted for you. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI always read your blog but haven't left a comment until now. I just voted for you on Joann's FB page. Love your dress. What is the name of the fabric? I don't need any more cloth, BUT . . . . this is beautiful. And you did such a lovely job. My favorite kind of dress! -----Pam
ReplyDeleteThank you for your vote, Pam!
DeleteThe selvedge says the fabric is licensed by David Textile, Inc. and the copyright is Ching Han/Licensed by Rosenthal Represents. I found it in the "designer" quilting cotton section of my local JoAnn Fabrics (the store separates them out). A quick google search is not coming up with the exact fabric . . . but I hope you find it!
Gorgeous dress - love it. What a beautiful fabric!
ReplyDeleteJustvoted...this is such a stunning dress...so honoured that it made its debut appearance on my blog ;p
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you, Marie, for motivating me to get going on the dress! I have a tendency to get stuck staring at pretty vintage pattern envelopes and never actually open them up to make something from them - your vintage pattern pledge took care of that!
DeleteYou got my vote!
ReplyDeleteVoted! Good luck and I hope you win because it's a beautiful dress!
