Stuck in a Rut

I have been feeling a bit of creative frustration this past week.

I really did not accomplished much of anything.  Sure, I wandered into the sewing room a few times, and re-arranged things, but that does not count.

But that had to stop!

So this weekend, I finally finished cutting out my fabric and got on with the sewing.  And while this project is not turning out exactly as expected, I feel so much better!

  1. Three cheers for plowing onward and upward, sometimes it really is the best course of action. This dress is immensely pretty and looks to me like its shaping up marvelous.

  2. Oh wow, the dress is going to be fab! I love the fabric, I saw something a little similar in a shop at the weekend and managed to resist. But now I'll be heading straight back to get it!

  3. Ooh...is that the blouse from Butterick 5895? That pattern is up next in my sewing queue and I'm curious about the actual length of the top; I can't wait to hear how it worked for you.

    1. Yes, it sure it Butterick 5895! And yes indeed, it is quite short. If you are not planning to wear a very high-waisted pant or skirt, you will be showing some midriff skin if you make this up as drafted!

  5. OOH, a playsuit (or two piece dress if you will)! I have one of those in the works, too!

  6. Ooh! This looks lovely. I need some motivation to get back to sewing, but not having a designated space is very frustrating.

Can't wait to see how it turns out!
