Waiting (not so patiently) for Spring to Arrive

It is about this time of year that the weather rather cruelly decides to tease us with a bit of Spring weather, only to startle us back into Winter with the return of the cold/rain.

The only bonus is that things begin to bloom, which is rather lovely (except for the allergy issue).  But is there really anything more lovely than a blooming Magnolia tree with a few petals scattered underneath?

Once I get a taste of the beautiful weather that is to come, I want to ditch all of the winter-wear and turn to pastels and lightweight fabrics, even if it does get rather chilly after the sun goes down.

With all of the recent Vintage Vogue Reproduction discussions, I decided to pull one of my old outfits out of the closet.  And it is always fun to dissect previous projects and think of all of the things that I would do differently.

This pattern reminds me very much of the new Vogue 8875, updated for the year 1955.

Now, if only Spring would show up . . .

  1. I love the dress, which finds itself in the fabric lining of the jacket. You look fantastic!

  2. That's lovely! I really do prefer this one to the new Vintage Vogue. The details on your dress are so lovely: the neckline, the little bow, the belt...
