While working on my end of year review, I came across these photos.
The more I wear it, the more I love this dress. I have plans for a cotton version for
summertime, if and when it reappears! All of those light-weight fabrics are calling out to me when I should be focusing on wool.
I just love pulling a dress out and re-styling it.
Obviously, there is no way to truly
disguise this dress, but swapping out a belt, and changing shoes and adding a
hat changes the outfit for me, even if I am the only one to notice.

Laura, your website is wonderful. I love going on to it everyday to see what is new. You are a lovely young lady, keep up the good work. I too love to sew and make many of my own cloths. You are a great inspiration. I am assuming you wear what you make on a regular basis. What reaction do you get from people with your choice of styles? Just curious, Do you have a day job, if so, how do you find the time to do so much? Thanks for your inspriing blog.
ReplyDeleteI do wear these crazy outfits on a regular basis!
DeleteI work part-time in an office, and everyone is extremely supportive of my vintage tendencies, thank goodness!
There are a few odd stares I get from strangers from time to time, but for the most part, people seem to get a kick out of it. I very often have people telling me I look just like their mom/grandmother did when they were younger (and I assume that has to do more with my clothing than what I look like!).
That is just such a fabulous dress and looks wonderful on you. I'm soooooooooooooo jealous that I can't wear such an outfit!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou pull off large florals so, so well! They often overwhelm my petite frame (not that that point stops me from owning and wearing a few all the same ;D), but on you they are the picture of beauty and timeless elegance.
